A pilot flying in foggy weather relies on the gauges. He cannot see what is ahead. He trusts that the gauges are true. He focuses on them. He doesn’t look at the foggy sky and try to figure out where to go.
The same goes for us and God’s direction for our life. The journey of life is foggy. We can’t always see where we are going. The Bible is are set of gauges. Putting the Word in our hearts daily keeps us on course. On course for our intended destination.
The pilot stays on course and eventually he breaks through the fog to the open skies. It is then that he sees a glimpse of his next destination. If not for the gauges, he could’ve ended up anywhere; a place he shouldn’t be or even worse, the side of a mountain. He has to keep his eyes on the gauges and control the plane according to what the gauges say.
In order to reach God’s intended destination for our lives we must stay focused on Him. Don’t look blindly into the fog. Focus on the Bible to guide our paths. Make choices and decisions based on what the Bible says.
The flight of life does not have “auto pilot”. The gauges are there as a guide. We still have to fly the plane.
James 1:22 Don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
